Bbeyond member Brian Connolly brings his Market Stall Performance to Belfast Culture Night.

This artwork will be an ‘interactive performance’ where the artist will engage the public in a range of activities and transactions, using humour and surreal ideas & imagery. The artwork will attempt to create insights into contemporary life and political issues, under the guise of normal trading practices.

This performance strategy was developed from the artist’s central observation that members of the public attending a Market Place are actively engaged in ‘looking’, as they are often seeking something, a specific item, or a bargain perhaps. In this ‘shopping’ mind-set, members of the public may come across a ‘Market Stall’, as simply another stall among multiple market traders.

No booking is required and visitors can drop in and out of the event.
