Performance Art Networking
In 2026 Bbeyond secured one year of funding from the Northern Ireland Office to develop a NI-GB Performance Art Network. Over the year Bbeyond will be working with different partner organisations to strengthen links and learn from each other to nurture and expand our creative potential.
Each section, or milestone, of the project involves collaboration and learning across a wide range of skills and processes.
Partners and collaborators over the year include artists and educators from Performance Platform, tactileBOSCH, Belfast School of Art, University of Canturbury.
For this East/West project funding has been received by Bbeyond from the NIO, ACNI, Belfast City Council, Culture Night, CQBID, Ulster University with other partners bringing in funding from their respective sources.

Madison Agnew became a member of Bbeyond as a Bbeyond Graduate Award Winner from Belfast School of Art in 2025. Since joining Bbeyond Madison made work for our 50th Anniversary of Performance Art celebration G(l)ocal Intermission, been successful in Northern European Mobility Opportunity (NEMO) travelling to Norway to work with PAB and developing a new performance art development project, Rehearsal Space.
Madison has worked with painting and performance concurrently, to fabricate a non-representational way to paint and perform using conceptual ideas surrounding memories and feelings of being around these natural elements.
The Irish Coast, particularly the North and West Coast of Ireland, are a strong focal point within her work.
Paul King graduated from the University of Ulster with a BA Hons degree in Fine and Applied Art in 2002, and Master of Fine Art from University of Dundee, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2004.
He has been a member of the performance collective Bbeyond since 2008. His practice is a study of the nature of communicating with one another and the power issues and interplay involved. He puts emphasis on the elements of failure, alienation, frustration, aggression and comic absurdity. “And sometimes I make art about making art”.
Paul has been a performance art workshop facilitator for Bbeyond and has been an invited artist at the Belfast International Festival of Performance Art.
Rehearsal Space is an emerging performance art collective based in Belfast. Through guided open sessions, they aim to create a safe space for participants to expand their performance practice or investigate the medium for the first time.
Rehearsal Space has been developed by Madison Agnew, Samar Nezamabad and Emma Quinn. Both Samar and Emma have been co-directors at Catalyst Arts and made contributions to the Bbeyond G(l)ocal Intermission Symposium in 2025.

Free Workshop with Greig Burgoyne

Greig Burgoyne is a Glasgow‑born artist whose practice uses drawing as an expanded, site‑responsive investigation into space, perception and the limits of the body. Working across performance, installation, film, sound and text, he employs rule‑based, endurance‑driven processes to test the anomalies of a given site and reveal what is usually invisible. His immersive works often appear precarious or absurd, yet open new dialogues about flux, vulnerability and how we experience space.
Greig is Head of Fine Art at University of Creative Arts, Canterbury and partner in NI Office Connect programme of developing an NI-GB performance art network with Bbeyond and others.

Earlier in 2026 Bbeyond secured funding from the Northern Ireland Office to develop a NI-GB Performance Art Network. This was funding to work between east and west across the Irish Sea.
Over the year we have engaged with artists from Performance Platform, tactileBOSCH, SITE, Other, and Spill your Tea.
To celebrate 25 years of Bbeyond we are bringing old and new together to share news about the project, look back on the past, look to the future and cement the connections that we have made.
